Esquires, Bedford

On the 7th October, Silver Sun played an unannounced gig at Esquires Nightclub in Bedford. I was there, were you?

Here's a couple of clippings from the local rags - Herald & Post and Bedfordshire Times & Citizen. The latter led with the quality headline 'Hi Ho Silver Sun'. Hmmm... Nice.

There wasn't too many people there, but Wednesday nights at Esquires haven't got a reputation for being busy. I got there early enough this time to see the support band, The Young Offenders. They're not bad at all, I reckon we'll be seeing a bit more of them in the future. The singer looks and acts like Mick Jagger as well. Can't be bad!

Silver Sun started their set, this time without the dodgy Sci-fi music (which I've now found out is 'The Prophet on the Priarie' off the album!!). The set was more or less the same, except they played 'There will never be another me' as well. For an encore (which JB didn't need much encouragement for - He came back on muttering 'Well, *I* think I'm great'!) they played Too Much, Too Little, Too Late and Trickle Down which was a total barn-stormer and had the whole place jumping. The mix was spot on, the crowd were loving it, I reckon it was the best SS gig I've ever been to. Same time next year?
