After a swift pint in the pub outside, we got in and waited. The first support band came on, a group none of us had ever heard of before. Silver Sun? What sort of a name's that? My first impressions were... 'They're a bit loud'. Ha! I must be getting old! But after a couple of songs, I noticed that most feet in the room were tapping along to the rythm. Even though I had never heard any of their songs before, I couldn't help humming along with the final chorus of each track, until they disappeared in a wail of distortion. No matter, from this moment forward, rock 'n' roll would never be the same again...
I would give a track listing and so on for the show, but errr... well it was a long time ago, and I didn't know any of the songs then! Doh!
However, I was impressed!
The next support band was Mansun. The best word I could find to describe their set was... boring. Maybe they were having an off-day or something.
The band we were here to see was on last, and as you'd expect, Sleeper were superb. But that's another story.
