It's always something extra special when one of your favourite bands plays in your home town. Bedford isn't the most exciting town on the planet, but there is one small oasis to visit.

On the 17th of May 1997 Silver Sun played at Esquires Nightclub, supported by Carrie.

They played a selection of songs from the album, and also a few b-sides. Alas, they didn't play my favourite SS song ever (Streets..), but I suppose you can't have everything! (If you're reading this, James, maybe you can sort that out next time!?).

The atmosphere in the club was electric, from the pogo-ers (sp?) at the front right to the oldies at the back. And as if by some weird effect, the beer wasn't too bad, either!

Eventually they finished, but after some deafening shouting and screaming, they were persuaded to come back on. For the encore, they played Trickle Down, and I think that this was probably the best song of the evening.

Here's to the next one.
